Synopsis: Confia is a short horror film that follows two friends as they venture into an abandoned house. At first, their exploration feels playful, but it quickly becomes unsettling when they realize something is following them. The tension escalates until one of the friends suddenly disappears. In a frantic search, the other stumbles deeper into the house, only to be attacked when they finaly find the monster.

Description: This project was created as part of a themed assignment where our team was challenged to develop a short film within a limited scope. After discussing different possibilities, we decided on the horror genre, which resonated with the group’s shared interests and allowed us to experiment with tension and atmosphere. I contributed to shaping the story, co-writing the synopsis, and preparing early storyboards that guided the shoot. During production, I worked primarily behind the camera, managing both lighting setups and cinematography to create the eerie, shadow-heavy tone essential for horror.

One of the most rewarding sequences to film was the disappearance scene. To create the illusion of the character vanishing, we coordinated a practical trick: the actor moved around the other performer, staying just outside the camera’s field of view. This simple trick gave the scene a haunting and seamless quality without relying on editing tricks. While I was not directly involved in post-production, I learned a great deal about the importance of collaboration in filmmaking. Confia reinforced my understanding of how lighting, framing, and narrative pacing work together to build suspense, and it remains one of the most memorable group projects I’ve taken part in.
