CTOE - Virtual Experience

Start Date: December 2024

Project Length: 1 month

Team Size: 3 members

My Role: Visual design and 3D modeling

Used Tools: Blender and Maya

Synopsis: CTOE – Virtual Experience is a VR project developed to spark the interest of younger audiences in the Portuguese Armed Forces, particularly the Special Operations Troops. The game offers three distinct interactive experiences:

• A shooting-based quiz where players answer questions by hitting the correct targets.

• A mission map room, where users explore key operations carried out by the special forces and locate them on a large-scale map.

• A simplified weapon assembly tutorial that challenges players to build a firearm from its individual components.

Description: This project was a collaboration between ESMAD and CTOE, designed to enrich the museum space at the military base with modern, interactive exhibits. Within our class, multiple teams explored different approache, from musical compositions to architectural redesigns of the physical space, while our group focused on developing the VR experience.

My responsibilities included visual design and 3D modeling, ensuring that the virtual environments echoed the real-world museum. The spaces drew inspiration from the CTOE's base’s architecture, the museum interior, and the surrounding environment, blending authenticity with interactivity. The final result provided visitors with an engaging, immersive experience that both informed and entertained, while offering a new way for the museum to connect with its audience, and even some new audiences, like people with accessibility issues.
