Synopsis: An angel and a demon make a bet to see who can sway a girl in a café. In the end the angel wins, but they decide to work together and watch over humanity together.
Description: This project was a team effort where three members worked together, each focusing on different characters and environments. I was responsible for Amaya, the female human character, as well as the creation of the café setting.
The work was spread across two semesters. In the first, we focused on writing the story, designing, and modeling both characters and scenarios. In the second, we applied rigs to the characters, captured motion-sensor animation, and animated the scenes. Working with motion sensor recording was especially fun and a unique experience for me. On top of that, I handled post-production, which included adding filters, sound, and supporting video elements.
All of my assigned elements went through redesigns. The café environment had to be remade during the same semester it was made, because the original version didn’t meet the required quality. Amaya, while completed in the first semester, revealed major UV issues during rigging, which forced me to rebuild her model at the beginning of the second semester.
This project taught me valuable lessons. I realized it’s perfectly fine to redo and improve work if the first version doesn’t meet expectations. At the same time, I experienced the challenges of collaborating with a group that wasn’t always reliable, which showed me how much teamwork can affect the outcome of a creative project.
